What's On

Cell groups

We believe that Church is so much more than what goes on on a Sunday morning. The life of the Church is in the small groups which meet throughout the week.

A large proportion of members of St. Simon's meet during the week in "cells", or small groups of approximately 10 people. These cells provide an opportunity to pray, worship and study the Bible in a small group and to welcome new members into the church. Inherent in cells is a strong emphasis on natural evangelism and discipling.

Some groups meet during the day and others during the evening including a Youth Cell.

Members of the cells meet together in larger groups from time to time for worship, social events, and other activities.

A cell church can be described as a church of small groups rather than a church with small groups.

Cell church is based on the New Testament church as described in the end of Acts Chapter 2 and other similar passages of scripture. For further background information, see Cell Church UK and the Anglican Cell Church Network.
